Meet Jayna

JAYNA COBBS, M.Ed, CTACC, Candidate for Licensed Resident in Counseling

Jayna Cobbs, earned her Post-Masters in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and Masters in Education, School Counseling and Human Development from George Mason University.  Jayna is also a Certified Life Coach. She is currently awaiting approval from the Virginia Board of Counseling for her license as a Resident in Counseling. She has worked and continues to enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families.  Her goal with each client is to build strong therapeutic relationships by providing a physically and mentally safe space to work with all clients, including but not limited to those, experiencing life transitions and adjustments, parenting, post-partum life, self-esteem/personal growth, infidelity, relationship conflict, and career counseling.

Jayna draws upon many counseling theories in her work with clients, with the belief of meeting clients where they are, and to help them stretch just outside their comfort zone towards growth. Each individual is unique, so the therapeutic approach should reflect the needs of each individual, couple, or family.  With over 15 years of experience as a K-12 School Counselor, College Counselor, Crisis Counselor, and College Professor, Jayna has extensive experience with social-emotional learning, transition counseling, career counseling, groups and workshops, which she especially enjoys.

Jayna provides Telehealth counseling sessions.
