Life as we know it has radically changed. We were used to going out, whether it was for work, school, shopping, attending our kids’ activities, or socializing with our friends. We felt free and in control until the day came when our world was shaken to its core with the COVID 19 Pandemic. This Pandemic flipped life as we know it upside down and has caused upheaval in ways we have never experienced.

We are social beings who thrive on connecting with one another. Now we are learning about social distancing, how to interact virtually, how to protect ourselves publicly by wearing masks, and isolating ourselves by staying home. All of this goes against our nature of connecting with one another; and yet we quarantine ourselves to protect one another from the spread of COVID 19. This is our new way of life and the unknown of when we can return to a new and different life is unsettling. When COVID 19 subsides and we resume our lives, it will be different than what it was prior to the Pandemic. The aftermath will hopefully produce positive changes within our communities and the world. Specifically, how we work together, interact with each other, and living our lives and not take anything for granted.

Despite the challenge of navigating through this daunting and uncertain time, this may be an opportunity for positive experiences. It could be:
-to spend quality time with your family and friends.
-to start on projects around the house that you have not had the time to do.
– to start a new hobby or learn a new skill.
-to help others in need.
-to examine your goals and dreams.

These are some ideas on how to turn this horrible situation into something better. In the end, we all have a common bond; we are all in this together and can help and support each other be a stronger, kinder, and unified community.
